The next best thing to having flown or owned the aircraft of your dreams, is owning a Stan Stokes Original painting of that aircraft. Because of Stan's ability to accurately depict aircraft in incredible detail, and his years of experience at finding the perfect perspective for portraying every scene, the clients which have purchased one or more of Stan's originals have been ecstatic with the final product. Stan's paints with oils on canvas. Generally, Stan prefers to work in a 24 x 36 inch or larger format so as to get the detail he likes to have, however occasionally he will paint in a smaller format. What can Stan create for you?

See The Chart Below For Pricing On Original Paintings and Commissions
|
|
The price of a Stan Stokes’ original painting is a function of the canvas size and the complexity of the scene. The price for each painting completed for inventory is set by the artist, and may vary depending on the subject, size, and complexity. Prices for client commissions are shown below. An example of a low-complexity painting would be a single aircraft in flight. An example of a medium-complexity painting would be a second highly detailed aircraft and/or a ship in the same scene. A high complexity example would be an aircraft over a detailed cityscape such as San Francisco or New York. These prices are for your choice of acrylic or oil on canvas. Shipping and crating costs are additional. A 50% deposit is required to reserve a spot on Stan’s backlog.

Turn Around Time
There are three elements in the creation of an original painting; the research phase (gathering all relevant historical information and historical details necessary to initiate the work), the planning and approval phase (completing a detailed pencil sketch for approval of the client), and finally the painting of the canvas. This process may take as little as 7-9 days or as long as 5-6 weeks. Although Stan has an extensive backlog, we manage the backlog to accommodate the needs of the client. Generally speaking a minimum of 3-6 months should be allowed for the completion of a commission.
